Data Cable ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by BRGV Labs, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application (Package Name: com.brgvlabs.datacable) handles information when you use our local wireless file management and transfer services.

1. Overview & Local-First Architecture

Data Cable is a wireless local file transfer and device management utility. It allows users to transfer files, photos, videos, and documents between mobile devices and computers connected to the same Wi-Fi network or local hotspot.

All file transfers occur strictly over your local Wi-Fi network or direct Wi-Fi hotspot. Your files are never uploaded to, stored on, or processed through any remote cloud servers managed by BRGV Labs.

2. Information Collection and Storage

We adhere to a strict privacy-first model:

• Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or require personal user accounts, names, phone numbers, or email addresses to use the app's core local file transfer functionality.
• Files & Media: Files selected for transfer remain on your device and are transmitted directly over your local network to your authorized target device.
• Network Data: Local network IP addresses and Wi-Fi status are processed locally on your device to establish the local HTTP web server and peer-to-peer socket connections. This data is not transmitted to us.

3. Device Permissions Requested

To provide core file transfer features, Data Cable requests the following system permissions:

• Storage / Manage External Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to browse, organize, and transfer user-selected files on your device.
• Network & Wi-Fi Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): Required to initialize the local HTTP file server and establish socket connections between your devices.
• Foreground Service & Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Required to maintain the file transfer web server in the background while displaying an active status indicator in your system tray.

4. Advertising & Third-Party Services

Data Cable includes integrated ad placements provided by third-party advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob) to support ongoing development.

These third-party ad networks may collect anonymized device telemetry and diagnostic identifiers in accordance with their privacy policies:

These services may process device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID / GAID), IP address, and coarse location solely for serving relevant advertisements, preventing fraud, and conducting basic ad performance measurement.

5. Data Security

Because Data Cable transfers data directly over your local Wi-Fi network or local hotspot without routing through external servers, your data transfer security is protected by your local network's encryption standards (e.g., WPA2/WPA3).

6. Children's Privacy

Our Application does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and publishing the updated terms within the app or our official hosting endpoints.
